As you are probably aware networks and the Internet impact on many parts of our lives including for example, shopping, banking, health, leisure, travel etc.  Due to the rapid expansion of networking around the World there is now a recognised skills shortage in this area and this has created a great opportunity for individuals who are looking for employment in this well paid job market.

What or who is Cisco?
They are the major supplier of networking equipment in the World and they provide the fundamental building blocks networks within organisations and the Internet itself.  Their training programme has been completely revised last year to reflect the changing trends in technologies and now incorporates features such as a sophisticated on-line interface and a very complex simulation package that allows students to work from home as well as in the College.  The flexibility provided gives students the advantage of working at their own pace if need be.

Where does the training take place?
We have brand new dedicated training facilities in our new Academy complex at Landau Forte, where students experience both hands-on practical training and on-line theoretical training based upon Cisco’s very latest technologies including wireless networking.

Who provides the tuition?
Training is provided by tutors and technical staff at the college over a two year period, where upon successful completion of the course students are qualified to go on to industrial certification.

Can the award be used at university?
Many universities also now offer Cisco training and additional specialised networking courses to degree level, for those students wishing to go on to university rather than directly into employment we offer an additional qualification.  This additional award, the OCR Level 3 Certificate for IT Professionals, is taken in conjunction with the Cisco course to qualify for 80 UCAS points.
