Work Experience

Work ExperienceAll students at the College are offered a two-week work experience placement in Years 10 and 12 where it is believed that students will sample a working environment and develop new skills.  It enables students to develop their careers aims and ambitions and get them thinking about their future.

Students will experience the difference between a college environment and one of work.  They will work with a range of people with differing ages and students will develop a greater self-confidence.  Through completing work experience students will gain a greater understanding of business and enterprise skills.

The College can also provide extended placements under the Work Related Achievement Programme.  The WRAP placements are designed to support the few students who may find following a full curriculum programme in Key Stages 4 or 5 particularly challenging.

In addition to the Work Experience Placement Programme, Year 9 students will have opportunity to undertake a two-day Work Observation Placement as part of the Enrichment Week activities in July.
