Get Set Network
Recently Landau Forte College Derby have been accepted as a Get Set School. The Get Set network is a community of schools and colleges which are working together to use the London 2012 Games to inspire learners of all ages to get involved with promoting the Olympic values. Any school or college in the UK can become a member of the Get Set network and receive rewards and recognition from London 2012.
This is a huge achievement for the Landau Forte College Derby as we are 1 of only 4 schools in the whole of the City of Derby to have been accepted. As a Members of the network we have receive the right to use the London 2012 Education logo on their website and newsletters. We have also received a plaque and a certificate signed by Lord Sebastian Coe and we are in the process of organising a presentation of the Get Set Plaque from a Paralympic athlete.

Get Set Network Visit
On the 14th February 2011 Landau Forte College Derby was visited by Paralympics Olympian Leon Taylor and Gaynor Nash from the London 2012 Legacy team to present the College with their Get Set Network plaque. Leon went to the 2008 Beijing Olympics and represented Team GB as the Goal Keeper in the football team. Leon addressed the whole College via the LIVE streaming feed and shared photographs and spoke about his experiences. The Sports Council then had the opportunity to address the guest to present what they have been doing as part of the Get Set Network.
