Landau Forte College Youth Theatre at The Proms! 

Congratulations to Landau Forte Youth Theatre who gave a terrific performance at The Schools’ Prom last November.  To appreciate how the audience of 5000 received Swiss Cheese at The Royal Albert Hall, it is worth printing an extract from the written adjudication by Val Brodie the chair of the adjudicators about the Youth Theatre’s performance of Swiss Cheese.

A dynamic, commanding opening – it had a real wow factor.  Fabulously eccentric, expressive and totally committed.  The rich musicality was almost a sideline (fabulous though) to the fanciful, naïve story and the strong sense of projection of each word and movement.  This had total ownership – everyone versatile, characterful and involved in an energetic self parody.  Technically it had dramatic and musical inter activity of the most immaculate order – everybody obviously loves performing and gives100% - imaginative, disciplined, uninhibited joy!  Exquisite understanding of the act of total theatre and comedy.  Stunning detail, elective, inclusive – wonderful!
