Landau Forte College Derby Post 16 offers a coherent two-year programme of learning which is tailored to meet individual needs. The context for learning emphasises a scientific, technological, and business focus with a broad range of areas that may be studied, including:

You will have the opportunity to take part in enrichment activities such as Young Enterprise and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, Sport, Performing Arts and International Visits.

Your main studies will be enhanced with a core programme which includes work-related learning, AS Level General Studies or Critical Thinking, and other enrichment activities. Additionally, all students will undertake a major work placement, receive on-going careers education and guidance in preparation for Higher Education and employment.

At this critical time in your education you are supported and guided through our strong personal tutorial system. You will meet with your Personal Tutor, along with your tutor group, for Session 3 each day.  For all other sessions, you will be taught alongside students in your particular year group, only.

Tutor groups are ‘vertical’ groups, comprised of approximately 15 students of all ages, from each of Years 7 through to 13.  Each group has a ‘buddy group’ sharing the same base, so there will be several students from your year group in each pair.

Your examination success is particularly important as it opens the doors for you into Higher Education and high quality opportunities in the work place. Landau Forte College Derby has a sustained record of achievement with overall pass rates of students being consistently high.

A curriculum pathway is designed with you, to support your progression into Higher Education or directly into employment and apprenticeships. The range of courses offered will enable a flexible approach to gaining your qualifications with AS/A2 Level and BTEC qualifications available.
